Introduction to Interior Design

This two day course is designed to give you a basic understanding of Interior Design, either to renovate your own home, or as taster to starting a new career.

The topics we will cover include:

·      How to make a Scale Drawing of your Room (bring the basic measurements of a room you wish to design, together with details of where the windows, doors, and any other features are, and you can take away a scale drawing of your own room)

·         How to plan your furniture layout and draw to scale

·         How to draw scaled elevations from your scale drawing

·        Use of the colour wheel, the power of colour and its effect on mood and perception

·       Use of fabrics on window treatments, furniture and cushions, and how to combine textures, colours and patterns

·        Window Treatments and how to decide on the appropriate styles for each room

·         You will make a sample board to take home to redecorate your room

·       Comprehensive notes, paint charts and a sample board, together with the materials to create it, will all be provided

Whether your style is contemporary or traditional, we shall show you how to implement your ideas.  We will demonstrate how lighting and accessories can transform the overall look of a room and change the colour without a lot of expense.

You will leave after two days with an abundance of ideas!
