course covering:

measure and calculate required fabric

Discussion on where and how to fit blind to window

How to design the Roman Blind using the pattern of
the fabric

Whether to use a kit or traditional batten

How to construct a blind with or without top
stitching

You will make a sample Roman blind, lined and
interlined with no top stitching
Cushion Making
One day course covering:
-
Demonstration of different types of cushions
-
Basic design and shapes
-
Creative designs and using different materials
-
Basic sewing techniques
-
How to make piping
-
How to insert zips
-
You will make a
sample piped cushion.
If you bring your own fabric you can make a
cushion to match your home
All
materials will be supplied and comprehensive reference
notes for each course will be provided.
Please bring your own calculator, scissors and,
if you use one, a thimble.
Getting to Know your Sewing Machine
A half day course running from
9.30 am to 12.30 pm:

Use your own machine or one in our studio

Learn basic sewing stitches

Which needles to use for different projects

How to thread the machine and the bobbins

Learn how to use different stitches and attachments

Make a basic sample cushion cover
